Operating instructions SATA clean RCS
3. Putting into Operation
Attention: Prior to putting the unit into operation, especially after each cleaning and
each repair work, check all screws and nuts for tight fit, as well as the sealing
performance of the appliances and hoses. Prior to any servicing and repair work the
unit must be unpressurized, i.e. disconnected from the air supply. Failure to observe this
safety regulation may lead to damage and injuries, or even death. SATA shall not take any
responsibility for possible consequences of such negligence. Defective components must be
replaced or repaired accordingly. To obtain the highest possible air quality and for maximum
safety only use original spare parts. No sources of ignition (e.g. open fire, burning cigarettes,
lamps without ex-protection etc.) may be present during painting, as easily flammable mixtures
are generated during the painting process. During painting, health protection gear conform
with the corresponding regulations is to be used during painting (respiratory protection, etc.).
The use of the SATA clean RCS in explosion hazard areas Zone 0 is prohibited.
4. Installation Instructions
Install the appliance in the spray booth or in well ventilated surroundings. If solvent-based
cleaning agents are to be used, the SATA clean RCS must be grounded by a professional.
A drilling (14) for fixing a grounding cable is integrated in the appliance (respect explosion
hazard protection and worker health protection regulations of the corresponding country).
Do not operate the unit close to strong heat sources, open flames, burning cigarettes, etc.
Approach the paint supplier to inquire about the type of cleaning agent to be used (solvent
/ water).
Please note:
If the SATA clean RCS is to be installed outside the spray booth, and if a solvent-based
cleaning agent is to be used, the following must be respected:
- Zone 1 up to 2.5 m around the appliance (also see Directive VDE 0165 paragraph 6.1)
- Zone 2 ranging from 2.5 to 5 m around the appliance (also see Directive VDE 0165
paragraph 6.1)
5. Assembly
Use the fixing kit (Order No. 146357, for sheet metal walls)
and the drilling template included in the scope of delivery
to safely and firmly screw the SATA clean RCS gun quick
cleaning appliance vertically to an appropriate place on a
stable wall, protected from mechanical influence such as
shocks, shaking, etc.
Connect compressed air line G ½ ext. (or with connection
nipple G ¼ int.) to the air inlet (2) by ensuring tight fit and
absence of tension (use purified compressed air only).
For servicing work it is reasonable to include a shut-off
tap (Order No. 10934) and a detachable threaded con-
nection in the compressed air feeder line before the filter
(the threaded connection may optionally be installed after
the filter).
Before installing the SATA clean RCS gun quick cleaning
appliance, the compressed air line must be unpressuri-
zed.
