3 Product Description
3.1 Function description, layout of the appliance
The CA 3.0 is a semi-adjustable articulator designed in
accordance with Camper's plane. The mechanical joint takes
the form of a guide edge which supports a bi-conical axle. The
horizontal condyle path inclination can be adjusted from 0°-60°
by rotating a wheel. The appliance incorporates a retrusive
movement of 1.5 mm as well as the possibility of an immediate
side shift. A novel centric quick-lock facility can be activated for
exact, reproducible initial set position of the articulator. The
upper and lower sections of the articulator remain connected
by the centric rubber bands even when the centric lock is open.
Thanks to its well-conceived range of accessories the CA 3.0
can be readily adapted to suit the personal preferences and
requirements of the user.
3.2 Indication
Suitable for the three-dimensional fixing of models of dental
reconstructions. The basic configuration is suitable for simula-
ting the average-value movements of the human temporo-
mandibular joint.
3.3 Contraindications
Based on current knowledge, there are no contraindications
providing that the appliance is handled properly in accordance
with the Instructions for Use.
4 Installation and First Use
4.1 Using the appliance for the first time
Remove the parts from the box and check for completeness. If
any parts are missing or damaged, please contact Customer
Service. We recommend that you keep the packaging for trans-
portation purposes. Before using the articulator for the first
time, spray with a standard silicone spray.

inclination to an average value of 30°.
• Close the centric lock (04)

into the zero position (millimetre scale) and fasten
• Centre the incisal guide on the vertical guide rod
• Push the long part of the incisal pointer through the top

vertical guide rod as far as they will go.
4.3 Support rod
The supporting rod is a feature of the ergonomic design of the
articulator. Screw the supporting rod into the thread in the

5 Handling, Operation
5.1 Centric position
The CA 3.0 features a precision centric lock which can be acti-
vated in 3 possible positions:
Centric lock (04) closed
In this position the CA 3.0 can only be opened and closed in
centric position for occlusion checks to be performed.
Centric lock (04) open
Retrusion lock closed
Protrusive, Bennett, balance movements as well as immediate
side shift (ISS) and all intermediate movements can be physio-
logically reproduced in this position.
Centric lock and retrusion lock open (05)
With the lock in this position, the retrusive movement can also
be performed.
5.2 Protrusive movement (06)
If the centric lock is open, the protrusive movement can be
performed as shown in the figure. The horizontal condyle path
inclination can be adjusted from 0°-60° by rotating the wheel.
