FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

(T5); 2003-2010 + Multivan; 2003->
1. Remove the rear-light units. (fig 3)
2. Remove the bumper and the steel buffer beam from the vehicle. The
buffer beam will no longer be needed. Replace the bolts. (fig 3)
3. Remove the spare wheel.
4. Remove the rearmost protection cap.
5. Remove the towing eye.
6. Remove the reinforcement tube from the chassis members. (fig 1)
7. Saw a section out of the middle of the underside of the plastic protective
container as shown in fig 2.
8. Position the tow bar in the chassis.
9. Fit the ball housing, including socket plate, flat washers and self-locking
nuts.
10. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque indicated in the drawing.
11. Fit the rearmost protection cap, the rear-lights and the bumper.
12. Return the spare wheel to its original position.
13. FOR VEHICLES WITH PDC: attach the cables with tie-wraps.
(T5); 2011-2015 + (T6); 2015->
1. Remove the bumper. (fig 3, 3a)
2. Remove the bumper inner fittings. (fig 3, 3a)
3. For the models T5; 2011-2015 the following applies:
indicated section in accordance with figure 4.
4. Remove the spare wheel.
5. Remove the rearmost protection cap.
6. For the models T5; 2011-2015 the following applies:
out of the middle of the underside of the plastic protective container as
shown in fig 2.
For the models T6; 2015-> the following applies:
of the middle of the underside of the plastic protective container as
shown in fig 5.
7. Position the tow bar in the chassis.
8. Fit the ball housing, including socket plate, flat washers and self-locking
nuts.
9. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque indicated in the drawing.
10. Fit the rearmost protection cap.
11. For the models
items removed in step 1, 2 and 4.
12. For the models
removed in step 1 and 4.
13. FOR VEHICLES WITH PDC: attach the cables with tie-wraps.

removable ball system.
NOTE:
* Should this installation process entail the cutting of the bumper –
conformation MUST be obtained by the installation engineer of
the customer's acceptance prior to completion. Brink Towing
Systems do not accept responsibility for any matters arising as a
result of this miscommunication.
* All measurements are in mm!
* The dealer should be consulted for possible necessary adjustment(s)
"of the vehicle".
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting

* Consult your dealer for the maximum tolerated pull weight and ball hitch
pressure of your vehicle.
* Do not drill through electrical-, brake- or fuellines.

* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
* This fitting instruction has to be enclosed in the vehicle documents after
fitting the towbar.
