BOD 21M-...-S92
Photoelectric Sensors – Laser Distance Sensor
Operation
Display and operating elements
LED yellow, function indicator for output 1
LED green, operating voltage indicator
Setting the analog curve
This function can be used to adapt the analog curve
to the application.
1. Mount and align the sensor.
2. Define the start value:
Position the object to the desired position in the beam
path. Turn the rotary switch to Low. After 2 s, the
yellow LED flashes.
3. Define the end value:
Position the object to the desired position in the beam
path. Turn the rotary switch to High. After 2 s, the
green LED flashes.
4. Turn the rotary switch to Run. The defined values are
saved and the sensor is operational.
Setting the switchpoints
The two switchpoints can be set separately. Both of the
switchpoints must lie within the working range.
1. Mount and align the sensor.
2. Define the switch-on point as follows:
Position the object to the desired position in the beam
path.
For switching output 1, set the rotary switch to
position 1. The LEDs flash simultaneously.
For switching output 2, set the rotary switch to
position 2. The LEDs flash alternately.
3. Turn the rotary switch to Run. The defined switchpoints
are saved and the sensor is operational.
Error signals during teach-in:
If an LED flashes continuously in the Run position, the
teach-in process failed. Remedy: To restore the previous
state, interrupt the supply voltage. Repeat the teach-in
process.

Resetting the analog output to factory settings
Reset the analog output start point:
1. Position the object slightly below the beginning of the
measuring range, e.g. for the BOD 21M-LA02-S92,
slightly below 20 mm.
2. Turn the rotary switch to the Low position and wait until
the green LED illuminates and the yellow LED flashes.
3. Begin the teach-in process: Turn the rotary switch to
Run. As soon a the green LED is illuminated and the
yellow LED goes out, the teach-in process is complete.
Resetting the analog output end point:
1. Position the object slightly above the end of the
measuring range, e.g. for the BOD 21M-LA02-S92
slightly above 200 mm.
2. Turn the rotary switch to the High position and wait
until the green LED illuminates and the yellow LED
flashes.
3. Begin the teach-in process: Turn the rotary switch to
Run. As soon a the green LED is illuminated and the
yellow LED goes out, the teach-in process is complete.
Maintenance
We recommend cleaning the photoelectric surfaces and
checking the connector at regular intervals.
