Attention:
It is very important to determine the cause or the reason for
overheating/triggering the safety thermostat.
The heating module must only resume operation once the
overheating cause/fault that triggered the safety thermo-
stat has been clearly identified and rectified by a specialist.
The safety thermostat is intrinsically safe, i.e. the safety
thermostat switches off upon a cable break.

Maintenance schedule

Caution:
Remove the mains plug to disconnect the
device from the power supply prior to conduc-
ting maintenance work on the high-pressure
system.
Care and maintenance

Product description

The STORCH Hot Box 240 is a partially cladded, mobile
hot water unit designed for operation with high-pressure
cleaners with a maximum operating pressure of 180 bar.
An on-demand water heater with heating coil heats up the
water. The device is driven by fuel oil or diesel fuel from
the integrated tank. The adjustable temperature range is
between approximately 20° and 98° degrees Celsius.
The water is supplied using a cold-water high-pressure cle-
aner with a maximum operating pressure of 180 bar. In the
event that you would like to use the system without any
high-pressure jets, it is also possible to connect it to the
local water pipes.

Important notice

Check the device for transport damage upon unpacking.
Do not commission the device if you identify any damage.
Caution:
If the heating module is subject to excessive vibrations
during transport, the safety thermostat may also trigger,
although an overtemperature never applied.
A supply of hot water in excess of 53°C on the water input
side also triggers the safety thermostat.
Weekly maintenance - checks
Check the fuel oil filter for dirt and replace the filter insert
if applicable
Annual maintenance - checks
Check the entire heating module as per the accident pre-
vention regulations
This check must be conducted by a specialist.
The results of this check must be documented in a test
record.
Keep the test record safe.
The water inlet is indicated by "EIN". The water initially
flows via a flow monitor that monitors the water passing
through and enables the heating process as soon as enough
water is available. The temperature controller represents
the downstream component in the control chain of the
STORCH Hot Box 240.
An excess pressure valve is additionally fitted in the water
pipe system. It opens upon exceeding the maximum pres-
sure to consequently protect the heating coil from damage
caused by excessive pressure.
The water flowing through the heating coil is heated up
by a fuel oil burner before it escapes from the water outlet
indicated as "OFF".
