To Start/Stop the Hedge Trimmer
(Fig . 6)
Before starting the hedge trimmer:
Make sure you have a secure and balanced
footing.
Stand upright and hold the hedge trimmer in
a relaxed position.
Remove the blade sheath.
Make sure that the cutting blade is not
touching the ground or any other objects.
Hold the tool with both hands: one hand on
the rear handle and one hand on the front
handle.
To start the hedge trimmer:
1. Install the battery pack.
2. Depress and hold the front switch lever in the front handle with one hand.
3. Push and hold the lock-off button from the left or the right with the thumb or the index
finger of your other hand, then squeeze the rear switch lever with your fingers to start the
hedge trimmer. Release the lock-off button and keep squeezing the rear switch lever for
continued operation.
To stop the hedge trimmer:
Move the hedge trimmer away from the cutting area and release the rear switch lever to stop
the hedge trimmer.

and away from you in a safe manner. Disconnect the electrical service to the damaged line or
cord before attempting to free the blade from the line or cord. Failure to heed this warning will
