Assembly and adjustment
Prior to assembly and adjustment always
unplug the tool.
Inserting and removing a bit (fig. A)
• Align the pilot hole (6) in the chuck (1) with an
opening in the chuck guard (7).
• Insert the chuck key into the pilot hole (6).
• Open the chuck jaws (8) by turning
counterclockwise.
• Insert the shank of a bit into the chuck.
• Tighten the chuck using all three holes.
• To remove the bit, proceed in reverse order.
Chuck key holder (fig. D)
Your DeWALT Heavy Duty Right Angle Drill is
supplied with a chuck key holder.
• Fit the chuck key (5) to the chuck key holder (4)
as shown.

Chuck removal (fig. C)
• Insert the straight end of the chuck key handle
into the chuck (1).
• Strike the key (5) sharply in a counterclockwise
direction using a wooden mallet or similar object
to loosen the chuck.
• Unscrew the chuck by hand.
Lubrication
Your Power Tool requires no additional lubrication.
Cleaning
Keep the ventilation slots clear and regularly clean
the housing with a soft cloth.
Unwanted tools and the environment
Take your tool to an authorized DeWALT repair
agent where it will be disposed of in an
environmentally safe way.
