  • Page 6 2 Intended Use ® ® ® The M2Smart SE Set (M2Smart SE/DS2Smart ) Mobile Handheld Computer records and transmits data on the go. The included components are intended exclusively for use with the Mobile Handheld Computer and docking station. Do not use the system in geographical areas where explosives may be used. Observe all warning information regarding the use of wireless devices.
  • Page 7 4 Warning and Safety Notices Please read the following warning and safety notices. They are for your safety and to ensure that the Mobile Handheld Computer is ready to use. Only ACD original power supplies and rechargeable batteries approved by ACD may be used for the operation of the Mobile Handheld Computer and docking station! The use of components that have not been approved can cause the destruction of the Mobile Handheld Computer or the docking station.
  • Page 8 Before use, the Mobile Handheld Computer, battery, docking station, power supply, and any connection cables must be checked for damage. Damaged parts must be replaced. For this, please contact ACD Elektronik GmbH. CAUTION If metal chips or other conductive parts get into the battery compartment, switch off the Mobile Handheld Computer immediately and clean it.

  • Page 10 5 Before Initial Start-up 5.1 Starting up the Mobile Handheld Computer Before starting up the Mobile Handheld Computer for the first time, please make sure that the rechargeable battery installed in the Mobile Handheld Computer at the factory is fully charged. Connect the docking station (if included in scope of delivery) to the mains supply with the included power supply and place the Mobile Handheld Computer in the docking station.
  • Page 11 6.1.2 Switching off To switch the Mobile Handheld Computer off, use the following button: “On/Off” button (hold for three seconds). Then a dialog with the options "Power off, Restart and Screenshot" appears on the right side of the display. To switch off the device the button "Power off" must be confirmed. If you want to cancel this dialog, click on a free area on the display next to it.
  • Page 12 Fig. 34: Removing the rechargeable battery To insert the rechargeable battery in the device, tip it diagonally downward and place it in the rechargeable battery compartment. Insert the rechargeable battery so that the contacts are aligned with the contacts of the device.

Then close the retaining strap eyelet at the bottom of the device and close the Velcro closure of the retaining strap.

  • Page 15 6.1.9 Inserting the Mobil Handheld Computer in and removing it from the docking station To insert the Mobile Handheld Computer in the docking station, put it in vertically downward. To remove the Mobile Handheld Computer from the docking station, pull it vertically upward out of the docking station. Fig.
  • Page 16 6.1.10 Inserting the replacement rechargeable battery in and removing it from the docking station To insert the replacement rechargeable battery in the device, tip it diagonally downward and place it in the rechargeable battery compartment. Insert the rechargeable battery so that the contacts are aligned with the contacts of the docking station.

  • Page 19 7 Expansion Variants of the Mobile Handheld Computer 7.1 2D scanner There are 2D scanner - opportunity to scan DotCodes as option - available for the Mobile Handheld Computer. The scanner is on top of the housing under the disk of the device. ACD Elektronik GmbH has developed a scanner driver/scanner service to activate the scan module.
  • Page 20 7.4 RFID/NFC reader The device has a RFID/NFC reader PN7150 with integrated firmware as option, which supports the following operating modes or protocols.
