Storing the batteries
Note: The service life of the batteries is
longest when they are well maintained and
above all stored at the right temperatures.
However, as the batteries age, their capacity
will decrease, even if stored properly. A sig-
nificantly shorter operating time despite a full
battery indicates that the battery is depleted.
• Storing the battery for a long period of time when
empty may damage the battery and greatly
reduce its capacity.
• Charge batteries before storing them to avoid
damage and deep discharging. The optimum
state of charge before storage is approx. 70%.
• If the battery is stored for a long period of time,
regularly check the state of charge; charge the
battery if necessary.
• Store batteries in dry and well-ventilated areas.
• Protect batteries from moisture and water.
• Store batteries in the following places if possible:
– in rooms with smoke detectors;
– not in the vicinity of flammable or easily com-
bustible objects;
– not in the vicinity of heat sources.
• The optimum storage temperature is 10-20°C.
• Batteries must not be stored below 0 °C or above
40 °C as extreme temperatures may cause the
batteries to become damaged.
• Do not expose batteries to direct sunlight.
• Disconnect batteries from the device before stor-
age.
• Do not leave batteries permanently connected to
the charger.
