Cutting tips
• Only cut with the left (shown here as light grey)
area of the cutting unit when the unit is being
moved from right to left.
• In the right (dark grey) area, the threads rotate in
your direction.
This represents a high level of kickback risk and
objects may be thrown in your direction by the
rotation of the thread. You may be hurt as a result.
• When the unit is moved from left to right, ensure
that the thread is kept away from the grass to
ensure that the grass is not thrown up.
• Cut long grasses from top to bottom to ensure that
the grasses do not get tangled around the spool.
• Only use the tip of the thread. This way you use
less thread and avoid grass getting caught up in
the spool.
• Only take the thread as close as absolutely nec-
essary to posts, walls, fences etc. Solid objects
will wear the thread.
• Tree trunks, young trees and bushes may be
damaged by the thread.
Trimming edges
WARNING! Risk of injury! When using the
cutting head upright, particular care should
be taken. Always maintain sufficient dis-
tance to the cutting thread.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Avoid contact with solid surfaces to prevent
rapid wear of the thread.
Note: The guide roller (6) only serves for
easier guidance when trimming edges. It
should not be used for brush cutting and has
no influence on the cutting height.
– Guide the unit, as shown, slowly along the edge
of the lawn (► P. 5, fig. 9).
Lengthening the thread
WARNING! Risk of injury! Remove the
battery pack before conducting any work on
the device.
When the unit no longer cuts cleanly, the threads
have become too short.
The best cutting results are obtained when the thread
is lengthened far enough to be cut by the blade to the
correct length.
