4) Assembly of additional floors
Connection of support pipes
The Scarvo L to XXL spiral staircases include 2-4 support pipes.
Depending on the type, the support pipes are connected to each other
with a support pipe adapter (32) or a support pipe reinforcer (33). The
support pipe adapter is inserted into the support pipe and fixed in
place with the supplied grub screws (31). The support pipe extension is
sunk into the support pipe as far as it will go so that the reinforcer
protrudes about 150 mm from the support pipe. The support pipe
reinforcer is also fixed in place with the grub screws (31).
If both support pipe reinforcers and support pipe adapters are
included in the scope of delivery, use the support pipe reinforcers first
and the support pipe adapters in the upper section of the staircase.
Sequence of assembly steps
The first part of the staircase is assembled according to the assembly
instructions, skipping steps 13 and 15. Another support pipe has to be
assembled now.
The second part of the staircase is assembled as described without
steps 1-3 from the assembly instructions. (For the Scarvo L, assembly
is complete here)
If the staircase is a Scarvo XL or XXL, steps 13 and 15 are also skipped
in the second part of the staircase. The third support pipe in now
attached.
The third staircase section is assembled again without steps 1-3 from
the instructions. If it is a Scarvo XL, carry out all other steps in the
assembly instructions. For a Scarvo XXL, also skips steps 13 and 15.
The last support pipe is needed now. If the support pipe is fitted,
assembly is done from step 4.
Note:
The supplied grub screws (pos. 31) for connecting the support pipes
using the standpipe adapters / support pipe reinforcers should be
tightened firmly, approx. 10-12 Nm.
