RESISTANCE MEASURING
1.
Connect the red test wire to the connection marked VΩ mA,
and connect the black test wire to the connection marked COM.
2.
Turn the measuring range switch to the required resistance
range.
3.
If the component or appliance for which the resistance is
to be measured is connected to a current circuit, switch it
off and discharge any capacitors before carrying out the
measurement.
4.
Connect the test wires to the component, appliance or circuit
to be measured.
5.
Read off the resistance on the multimeter display.
DIODE MEASURING
1.
Connect the red test wire to the connection marked VΩ mA,
and connect the black test wire to the connection marked
COM.
2.
Turn the measuring range switch to position
3.
Connect the red test wire to the anode on the diode and the
black test wire to the cathode.
4.
The voltage drop at the diode is shown in mV on the
multimeter display. 1 is shown on the multimeter display if
the diode has been connected with inverse polarity.
TRANSISTOR MEASURING
(CURRENT AMPLIFICATION FACTOR HFE)
1.
Turn the measuring range switch to position hFE.
2.
Localise the connections to the transistor emitter, base and
collector, and confirm the transistor type – PNP or NPN.
