6.
Never modify the original state of the product, it is not permitted.
Fitting
7.
Check that all necessary components of the product are included according to the list found in
the assembly instructions.
8.
Clean the towball or hitch receiver and any product components that come in direct contact
with them before assembly.
9.
It is highly recommended to be on a safe zone without traffic (house, garage, car park, the
verge of a road, etc) to assemble the product or handle the load.
10.
Follow the assembly instructions carefully and thoroughly and make sure that the load carrier,
bike carrier or rear accessory is suitable for the vehicle (refer to the indications in the assembly
instructions or on the product packaging, but also in the vehicle's instruction manual in the
loading/transport section). Then assemble the product following the correct sequence (1, 2, 3
or A, B, C and so on).
11.
The correct fixation and condition of the product and all components must be verified before,
during and after each use.
12.
All bolted joints and connections shall be checked for firm fit before each journey and retighte-
ned, if necessary.
13.
Each time the product is remounted on the vehicle and after each new loading onto the load
carrier, bike carrier or rear accessory, the firm hold of the product and the load shall be chec-
ked for the first time after a short journey (maximum 30 minutes on uneven road or 50 km on
normal road) and re-tightened, if necessary. In particular, during longer journeys, the screwed
connections between the product and the vehicle must be checked at regular intervals, but not
later than every 500 km, and re-tightened, if necessary. On poor road conditions, an inspec-
tion of the screwed connection shall be repeated after 2 hours of travel respectively.
14.
Rear load and bike carriers may have a mechanism that can be adjusted to three positions:
in-use position, non-use position and tilted down position. The tilted down position is only and
exclusively to facilitate access to the trunk; the vehicle should never be driven with the product
in this position. Make sure that the mechanism is properly locked in the non-use position or in
the use position when driving the vehicle.
15.
Make sure that the load carrier, bike carrier and/or rear accessory, as well as the load, maintain
a safe distance between themselves and the vehicle's exhaust pipe, since the exhaust pipe
itself or the expelled gases are very hot and may damage the product and/or the load.
Load carriers, bike carriers and rear accessories for hitch receivers
16.
As noted in the assembly instructions, the load carrier, bike carrier or rear accessory is only
compatible with hitch receivers that have a "pin-hole".
17.
Always check that the hitch receiver is not damaged, dirty or covered in oil before installing the
load carrier, bike carrier or rear accessory.
18.
The load carrier, bike carrier and/or rear accessories should be re-tightened frequently. Check
the product frequently for movement in the hitch receiver or reduced clamping force and, if so,
re-tighten according to the assembly instructions.
19.
The weight of the load carrier, bike carrier and/or rear accessory and load must never exceed
the maximum load capacity of the hitch receiver.
20.
Check the maximum load capacity of the hitch receiver in the manufacturer's assembly ins-
tructions, in the vehicle instructions manual or contact your local dealer/distributor/store.
21
Always check the correct operation and visibility of the lights before starting to drive the vehicle.
Load carriers, bike carriers and rear accessories for towbars
22.
As stated in the assembly instructions, the load carrier, bike carrier or rear accessory is only
compatible with A50 towballs (according to ECE R55).
23.
The load carrier, bike carrier or rear accessory is not compatible with towballs made of alumi-
num or cast iron. Both the ball and the collar below it must be made of steel.
24.
Always check that the towball is not damaged, dirty or covered in oil before installing the load
carrier, bike rack or rear accessory.
