b) Recording Level Display
The recording level display (9) provides information about the output level.
The level on the indicator should not exceed the „0" dB value as otherwise distortion of the music
signal can occur. A short blinking or deflection beyond the „0" dB value in the case of signal
peaks is not harmful.
c) Volume Control
• Set the volume of the connected amplifier to minimum.
• Set the channel faders (3, 5 and 7) to minimum as well.
• Start a connected playback device, e.g. a CD player. If this device has a volume control, set the volume
to about 75 % of the maximum level.
• Slide the respective channel fader (3, 5 or 7) upwards to set the maximum volume of the respective
channel. The signal level can now be read from the level display (9). It should not exceed „0" dB.
• Set the desired volume for the remaining mixing desk channels the same way. All channels should have
about the same volume when cross-fading between the channels so that there are no great differences
in the volume which would otherwise require the output signal to be adjusted.
• Now set the desired volume using the volume control on the amplifier. Make sure that the sound is not
distorted.
• After you have made these settings, use only the LEVEL control of the amplifier when you want to change
the playback volume.
Make sure that the connected speakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. The sound should
never be distorted.
If there are any distorted music signals even though the volume on the amplifier has not been
set too high and the mixer has been set correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and check
the connection. If the connection is correct, please contact a specialist.
d) Using Headphones
Before plugging the headphones in or out, putting them on or turning the mixing desk on or off,
please turn the headphone volume controls (17) to the left stop („00" position)! There is a risk of
damage to your hearing through excessive volume at the headphones output.
• The signal of the mixing desk output is given out through the headphones output.
• The volume can be set with the volume control for headphones (17).
