d) Remove keys and wrenches before switching on the electric tool. A tool or key coming into contact with rotating parts of the tool can result in damage or
injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f ) Wear suitable work clothes. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Loose clothing, jewellery or long
hair can get caught in moving parts.
g) If vacuum and drainage devices can be fitted on the tool, make sure that they are correctly connected and used. The use of a dust extraction system can
reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool safety
a) Do not overstrain the tool. Use the right tool for each task. You will be able to work better and more safely within the specified performance parameters.
b) Do not use a power tool with a defective power switch. A power tool that cannot be switched on or off is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Unplug the tool and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments to the tool, switching attachments or putting the tool down or in storage. This
safety measure prevents the power tool from starting up unintentionally.
d) Keep the electric tool out of the reach of children and untrained users. Only people who have read and understand completely all safety instructions can use
the power tool. Power tools can be dangerous if used by inexperienced users.
e) Clean your power tool carefully. Check that the moving parts work properly and do not jam and that there are no parts broken or damaged to such an extent
that the operation of the power tool is affected. Contact an authorised service centre for any repairs needed before using the tool. Poorly maintained power
tools can cause serious damage or harm.
f) Keep any cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tools, accessories, attachments, etc. in accordance with these instructions. Take into account the conditions of your workplace and the task
at hand. Using power tools for any purpose other than that for which they are intended can lead to dangerous situations.
Service
Have your power tool repaired only by trained personnel using only authentic spare parts. This will ensure that your power tool is always safe to use.
WARNING - Danger due to electromagnetic field!
This power tool generates an electromagnetic field during operation. This field can impair active or passive medical implants under certain conditions.
In order to prevent the risk of serious or deadly injuries, we recommend that persons with medical implants consult with their physician and the
implant's manufacturer prior to operating the power tool.
Bench grinders safety
a) Do not touch the power cord if it becomes damaged or cut while you are using the device. Disconnect the plug frm the outlet immediately and have the
device repaired at an authorised service center or by a suitably qualified technician.
b) Do not operate the device if it is damp and do not use it in a humid environment.
c) If you use the device outdoors, always connect it through a residual current device (RCD) with a maximum trip current of 30 mA. If using an extension cord,
always use one that is approved for outdoor use.
d) If a dangerous situation arises, immediately pull the plug out of the mains socket.
e) Always work with the power cord routed away from the back of the device.
f) Wear protective glasses, hearing protection, a dust protection mask and protective gloves.
g) The double grinding machine is intended for dry grinding of the surfaces of metal objects. The device may only be used for dry grinding.
h) Do not grind materials containing asbestos. Asbestos is a known carcinogen.
i) Do not use damaged grinding wheels .
j) Only use grinding wheels with details that correspond with those given on the device rating plate. The circumferential speed should be equal to or greater
than the value given on the device rating plate.
k) Adjust the eye guard mounts (spark deflectors) and the eye guards periodically so that wear on the grinding wheels can be evened out. Keep the gap as small
as possible.
l) Avoid contact with the moving grinding wheel.
m) Never leave the device working unattended.
n) Never use the device for a purpose for which it was not intended.
o) Before you insert the mains plug into the socket, always check that the device is switched off.
p) Always switch the device on before bringing the workpiece into contact with the grinding wheel. After grinding, lift off the workpiece before switching the
device off.
q) Hold the workpiece firmly with both hands at all times when working.
r) Always keep proper footing and balance.
s) After you have finished grinding metal, allow the grinding wheel to come to a standstill.
t) When taking a break from your work, before carrying out any tasks on the device itself and when you are not using the device, always pull the plug out of
the mains socket.
u) Handle the device carefully and treat it with respect. Always keep the device clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
v) Remain alert at all times. Always watch what you are doing and proceed with caution. Do not use the device if you cannot concentrate or you are feeling
unwell.
w) Store grinding wheels in such a way that they are not subject to mechanical loads or damaging environmental influences.
Danger of fire from sparks!
Grinding metal creates sparks. For this reason, always make sure that no one is in danger and that there are no flammable materials near the
workplace.
