• Capacitance Measurement
To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, disconnect the circuit power and
discharge all high-voltage capacitors before measuring capacitance. Use the DC voltage
function to confirm that the capacitor is discharged.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the

4. Connect the test leads to the capacitor being measured and read the displayed value.
Note:
• For high capacity values, the meter may take a few seconds before stabilizing the reading.
• For low capacity values, press REL to make the LCD display 000 before measurement.
• Diode Test
To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, disconnect the circuit power and
discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing diodes.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the

4. Connect the red test lead to the anode; connect the black test lead to the cathode of the diode. The meter will
display the approximate forward voltage drop. If the lead connection is reversed, the meter will display OL.
• Continuity Check
To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, disconnect the circuit power and
discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing the continuity.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the

4. Connect the test leads to the resistance in the circuit being measured. If continuity exists, i.e. resistance < 40 ,
the built-in buzzer will sound.
Note:
• If the measured circuit resistance > 400 , the meter will display OL.
• Frequency Measurement
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the Hz jack.
2. Set the rotary selector at the desired Hz range.
3. Press Hz/DUTY to select the Hz range.
4. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit being measured
• Duty Cycle Measurement
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the Hz jack.
2. Set the rotary selector at the desired Hz range.
3. Press Hz/DUTY to select the duty cycle range.
4. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit being measured
