Do Not:
a. Modify or alter the shop press; all parts and accessories are designed with built-it safety
features that may be compromised if altered.
b. Use the shop press in a way for which it was not designed.
3. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean and in good condition for a better and safer
performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect tool fittings
and alignment periodically and, if damaged, have them repaired or replaced by an authorized
technician. The handles must be kept clean, dry and free from oil and grease at all times. A
properly maintained tool reduces the risk of binding and is easier to control. Applying
excessive force can lead to slips and damage to your work piece or personal injury.
4. Only use the lubricants supplied with the tool or specified by the manufacturer. Other
lubricants may not be suitable and may damage the tool or even make the tool explode.
5. When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of lubricant to the steel parts to
avoid rust.
6. Maintain the label and nameplate on the shop press. These carry important information. If
unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto for a replacement.
UNPACKING
1. Carefully remove the shop press from the package.
a. Retain packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily installed or
operated the shop press.
2. Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.
3. Inspect the parts carefully to make sure the shop press was not damaged while shipping.
WARNING! If any part is missing, do not operate the tool until the missing parts are
replaced. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
ASSEMBLY
Use the parts breakdown as your guide to assemble the press. Lay all parts and assemblies
out in front of you before beginning. The following procedure is recommended.
1. Attach the left base section (16) to the left post (9) and lower crossbeam (15) using the hex
bolts M8 x 30 (17), flat washers 012 (18) and hex nuts M12 (19). Repeat to attach the right
post (9) to the lower crossbeam (15) and the right base section (16).
2. Put the press frame in an upright position and insert the support rods (14) through adjacent
holes in the left and right posts (9). Place the press platform (13) over the posts (9) and slide it
down so that it rests on the support rods (14).
3. Insert the eyebolt hooks (8) through the holes in the jack plate (7) and secure with the flat
washer 08 (10) and hex nut M8 (11). Then affix the hydraulic jack (6) to the jack plate (7) with
the screws M8 x 12 (20).
Place the jack plate (7) over the posts (9) so that it slides down and rests on the press platform
(13).
4. Attach the upper crossbeam (1) to the posts (9) using the hex bolt M16 x 120 (2), the flat
washer 016 (3), and the hex nut M16 (4).
5. Insert one end of the spring (5) through the holes in the upper crossbeam (1) and then raise
the jack plate
