Protective, electrically non-conductive clothes and non-skid footwear are recommended when
working. Wear steel-toed boots to prevent injury from falling objects.
2. Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or
damage to the tool. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use your common sense.
a. Keep articles of clothing, jewelry, hair, etc., away from moving parts to avoid entanglement
with a tool.
b. Do not operate any machine / tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medications.
c. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control
of a tool in unexpected situations.
d. Use clamps or other practical ways to support or secure the work piece to a stable platform.
Holding the work piece by hand or against your body is not stable and may lead to loss of
control and injury.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. The maximum load is 20 tons. DO NOT exceed this rated capacity. Never apply excessive
force to a work piece.
2. Inspect the shop press before each use. DO NOT use if bent, broken, cracked, leaking or
otherwise damaged, any suspect parts are noticed or it has been subjected to a shock load.
3. Check to ensure that all applicable bolts and nuts are firmly tightened.
4. DO NOT use the shop press to compress spring or any other item that could disengage and
cause a potential hazard. Never stand directly in front of a loaded press and never leave a
loaded press unattended.
5. DO NOT make any modifications to the press.
6. DO NOT use brake fluid or any other improper fluid and avoid mixing different types of oil
when adding hydraulic oil. only good quality hydraulic jack oil can be used.
HYDRAULIC PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not attempt makeshift repairs to the hydraulic system. Such repairs can fail suddenly and
create a hazardous condition.
2. Wear proper hand and eye protection when searching for a high-pressure hydraulic leak.
Use wood or cardboard as a backstop instead of hands.
3. If hydraulic fluid penetrates the skin, seek medical attention immediately. Serious infection
or toxic reaction will develop.
TOOL USE AND CARE
1. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the
work of a larger industrial tool. The tool will perform better and more safely at the task for which
it was intended.
2. This shop press was designed for a specific function.
