12-bit/16-bit audio output modes

16-bit mode
The 16-bit mode uses the whole audio area to output
one stereo track. The original audio can be output
with high quality in this mode. This mode uses 48
kHz sampling frequencies.
12-bit mode
The 12-bit mode consists of two separate stereo tracks
– Stereo 1 and 2. This mode uses 32 kHz sampling
frequencies. With the DV unit, you can add messages
or background music independent from the recorded
sound in this mode.
LANC (Local Application Control Bus System) is a
system to control other equipment. The data is
transported via the LANC connectors, and includes
the operation command, such as play, stop, and pause
as well as the status of the equipment.

• If your analog video unit has a LANC setting choice
of "M" (control side) or "S" (passive side), be sure to
select "S".
• To control a video camera recorder with the LANC
connection, set the video camera recorder to "VTR"
mode.
• When you control an analog video unit from the PC,
some functions which the analog video does not
have may not be available.
