Remove from below the vehicle any protective sealant from the points of contact between the shell and the tow bar; then paint the
uncovered parts with rust preventer. The holes for the tow bar's fixing need to be done.
1. Lift the luggage compartment's inner cladding.
2. LANCIA: from underneath the vehicle loosen the bumper's lower side, disassemble the exhaust pipe's support and the left
heat guard cladding.
3. FIAT: from underneath the vehicle accomplish the following operations: disassemble the rear bumper, the exhaust pipe's
support, loosen the heat guard cladding, disassemble the polystyrene shock absorbers and eliminate the tinplate supports
of the polystyrene shock absorbers.
4. From uderneath the vehicle in correspondence to holes "3" drill from below to above with a bit of Ø 9 mm the holes which
can be found underneath the spars.
5. From inside the luggage compartment in correspondence to holes "3" place components "D"; insert screws.
6. From underneath the vehicle in correspondence to holes "3" insert sparers within the spars and place components "B", then fix.
7. LANCIA: from underneath the vehicle fix component "B" in correspondence to holes "2" interjecting the wide washers.
8. FIAT: from underneath the vehicle place components "E" with reference to holes "2","5" and "6"; insert screws and then fix
interjecting in position "2" components "F" and the wide washers.
9. With reference to points "4" which can be found on components "B" drill some belt loops on the vehicle's chassis.
10. Place drawbeam "A" with reference to holes "1" and "4"; insert screws and then fix interjecting in position "4" the wide washers.
WARNING: place drawbeam "A" depending on the vehicle's version as shown in the enclosed layout.
11. Tighten all bolts and nuts with a tightening torque as shown in the enclosed layout.
12. Connect the wiring to the socket (usually given apart), following the car booklet's instructions "use and maintenance" as
shown in the enclosed wiring kit layout.
13. LANCIA: Make a cut on the bumper's middle side as shown in the enclosed layout.
14. LANCIA: Reassemble progressively the left heat guard cladding, the exhaust pipe's support, the bumper's lower side and
reallocate the luggage compartment's inner cladding.
15. FIAT: Reassemble progressively the heat guard cladding, the exhaust pipe's support, the polystyrene shock absorbers with
reference to components "E", the bumper and reallocate the luggage compartment's inner cladding.
• Make sure that the tow bar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation. Verify also that the vehicle's towing
disposal quoted on the car registration is mentioned on the tow bar document. Otherwise ask for the appropriate office
(umbrarimorchi@umbrarimorchi.it) for explanations or updated documents.
• For safety, all work involving tow bar installation must be undertaken by skilled technicians.
• Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer's spares parts by qualified staff.
• It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to the tow bar.
• The tow ball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular
intervals. If the tow ball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the tow ball must be
replaced with a new one.
• After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.
