Measurements:
Measurements should be taken after breastfeeding or expressing your milk.
Alternatively, 'when at rest', add an extra 2mm to your nipple measurement to
select the correct inner diameter size.
Your nipple should not be too free. You should see space around your nipple
in order to let it move easily in the funnel during pumping.
- If the breast shield is too tight: lesions, compressed ducts
- If the breast shield is too wide: less milk will be expressed
A correct comfort size (S or L outer fitting) will improve breast pump pressure
(optimal airtightness).
Cleaning / sterilization
of the breast pump and accessories
• Before using for the first time and after each use thereafter (and long
periods of disuse)
a. Cleaning
- Rinse out all the elements comprising the breast pump,
Kolor teat and feeding bottle in cold water, then wash in
hot soapy water.
- Rinse all the elements and assemble the two components
comprising the valve: the transparent valve and the
positioning ring (making sure that the valve is positioned
correctly on the ring).
- Drain on a piece of kitchen paper, then leave to dry in
the air.
You are advised to wash all parts in contact with breast milk immediately after
breast pump use. This makes cleaning easier and prevents the development
of bacteria.
• Before using for the first time and regularly during use:
b. At-home sterilization
Sterilize all parts in boiling water (10 minutes minimum), in the dishwasher or
in a microwave sterilizer. (Recommendation for disinfection with microwave
sterilizer : 800w-950w for 4 min)
