WARNING — Use of this parachute with any alternative inner container: the speed of open-
ing and opening shock test has been completed using the inner container supplied.
Use of any other inner container may produce different results (including failure).
> use
The possibility of having to use our parachute is very remote, but we must be clear about
the protocol to follow in an emergency. It is even highly recommended to carry out prac-
tices in an approved school and always on the water, having all the security measures (life
jacket, radio and support boat, etc.).
WINDSOs
We recall that the
CUBE is a "Square" type parachute conceived as a safety sys-
tem for paragliding pilots, who are in an emergency situation and never for the practice of
free fall, base jump or take off on the slope. THIS PARACHUTE IS NOT STEERABLE.
In case of use we must be clear how to do it. Once the parachute has been extracted from
its outer container or from its compartment in the harness (by acting with a stong and firm
pull on the handle) we will find the parachute hanging from our hand inside its inner con-
tainer - the next and essential step, to achieve a rapid opening, is to energetically launch
the package in the opposite direction to our direction and always avoiding throwing it
against our paraglider. If we simply drop it, it will cause a more delayed opening, which in
case of being close to the ground can be vital.
WINDSOs
It is very important to prevent the
CUBE from getting caught in the glider, and
this will depend on the circumstances of the emergency. If it happens when the paragli-der
is collapsed or with an cravatte, we must be careful if we release the quick-release cara-
biners, because the easiest thing is to release one first than the other and this makes one
WINDSOs
side of the paraglider rise and may get tangled in the
CUBE. In this case it is
always better not to release the carabiners but to pull the two brake lines fully and collect
lines until reaching the main node of the brake lines. With this we will leave the paraglider
"dead" and we can pick it up or release it later.
> checking and folding
WINDSOs
At least once a year, our
CUBE must be open and folded again, to prevent wear-
ing and possible static electricity from slowing down the opening of our parachute.
Duration of the CUBE: 10 years.
WINDSOs
The revision and folding of our
CUBE must always be carried out at Windtech or,
failing that, at a specialized center of recognized solvency, carried out by professionals. It
WINDSOs
is vitally important, for the correct functioning of the
CUBE, that the folding fol-
low the indications in this manual.
