Press C C U U E E (9) to pause the song at your point of cue. Press &
hold the C C U U E E (9) button to begin Cue preview, which will allow
you to judge whether the point of cue you have loaded is satisfac-
tory. If you are not satisfied with your point of cue, enage P P A A U U S S E E
(8) & use the J J O O G G W W H H E E E E L L (22) to find the exact point you wish
to begin play. Rapidly press P P L L A A Y Y / / P P A A U U S S E E (8) twice to enter &
exit play mode. You will be in pause mode. The CUE (9) LED will
blink. Repeat the steps for Cue preview, to make sure your new cue
point is satisfactory.
When you are satisfied with your point of cue, leave the CUE (9)
button alone, the CUE (9) LED will remain on to indicate that
the point of cue is stored & ready to be used.
C C U U E E I I D D E E N N T T I I F F I I C C A A T T I I O O N N :
The M M P P X X - - 4 4 0 0 has the ability to store one CUE point per track-
into its internal memory with a capacity of up to 250 tracks . This
enables the DJ to scan quickly to a pre programmed starting point
for easier mixes during a live session. To store this cue point CUE
the track up to the desired point and press the PLAY/PAUSE
button you can now use the wheel to adjust the start time. Once
you are satisfied with your cue point, press & hold the
M M E E M M O O / / S S T T O O R R E E (12) button for two seconds the display will
read STORE 0/250 . If you are not satisfied with this cue point
repeat the steps to store a cue point.
Your cue is now saved & can be recalled at any moment long after
you have stopped playing with this CD.. You will notice the A A U U T T O O
C C U U E E button LED blinking indicating that the M M P P X X - - 4 4 0 0 recog-
nize a stored cue point on the CD. Simply scroll to any track that
has a cue point stored. Press and hold the Folder/Recall Cue (23)
knob until the point has appeared on the LCD screen. Press the
CUE button then the PLAY button, and the CUE point will be
re-called, allowing you to CUE from that point forward.
S S E E A A M M L L E E S S S S L L O O O O P P : :
Press the L L O O O O P P I I N N (17) button to enter an entry point into
the memory, & the L L O O O O P P I I N N ' ' s s (17) green LED will blink rapidly
while memorizing the loop entry point into the memory.
After an entry loop point is memorized, press L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) in
play mode to complete the loop. The unit will automatically repeat
the section between the loop's entry point, programmed with the
pressing of the L L O O O O P P I I N N (17) button, & a second exit loop point,
when the L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) button is pressed. The loop is now pro-
grammed into the unit's memory. While playing the loop, both the
L L O O O O P P I I N N (17) & L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) green LEDs will blink to in-
dicate that the loop is in use. You will notice the LCD (16) will
also indicate that the LOOP is in use with a blinking CUE-B icon
that will remain steady once the loop has been stopped. Press the
R R E E L L O O O O P P (19) for the unit to return to the previously set loop.
Press the R R E E L L O O O O P P (19) repeatedly for stuttering the loop entry
point. The R R E E L L O O O O P P (19) function automatically returns the
music to the loop point & will play the loop until it is released
with the L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) button. Press the B B - - E E D D I I T T (20) button
to edit the loop created by your
S S E E A A M M L L E E S S S S L L O O O O P P . When pressing B B - - E E D D I I T T (20), the LCD (16)
will read the frame where the L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) is set. You may
adjust it with the use of the J J O O G G W W H H E E E E L L (22), by turning the
wheel left or right examining frame by frame while the loop re-
peats itself. You should be able to hear the difference in each
frame until you are satisfied with your loop exit point. Press B B - -
E E D D I I T T (20) when you are satisfied with your exit point & your
loop will continue to play until you press L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18).
To exit the loop & resume play, press L L O O O O P P O O U U T T (18) to stop the
loop & continue play from the point where the loop ends.
S S L L E E E E P P M M O O D D E E :
The M M P P X X - - 4 4 0 0 feature a default S S L L E E E E P P mode that activates itself
when the unit recognizes that it has not been in use for some time.
This feature simply shuts O O F F F F the laser to increase the longevity
of the unit' s playing capabilities. You will notice the LCD (16)
reads S S L L E E E E P P when this mode is activated. To deactivate this de-
fault mode, begin play & the unit will "wake up" to play music once
again.
R R E E L L A A Y Y S S T T A A R R T T J J A A C C K K (31): This jack makes it possible to connect
two M M P P X X - - 4 4 0 0 ' ' s together, so that when one unit finishes playing,
the opposite unit automatically starts playback. For normal use,
leave this jack disconnected.
T T R R O O U U B B L L E E S S H H O O O O T T I I N N G G : :
· If the disk will not play, check to see if the disc was loaded cor-
rectly (label side up). Also check the disc for excessive dirt,
scratches, etc.
· If the disc turns but there is no sound, check the cable connec-
tions. If they are okay, check your amplifier or receiver.
· If the CD skips, check the CD for dirt or scratches. Do not as-
sume that the CD player is defective. Many CDs are recorded out

of spec & will skip on most or all CD players. Before sending the
unit in for repair, try playing a CD that you are sure plays prop-
erly.
