8.1.2. CLEANING
Keep the machine clean, especially the area of the
fuel tank and areas close to the air filter.
Warning! The milling cutters are sharp and may
cause damage. Wear protective gloves when cleaning
the machine.
Cleaning the milling cutter area:
- Stop the engine and allow the engine to cool.
- Remove dirty and brush remnants using a scraper
and brush.
- Once you have removed the remains, you can use
a stream of water for a more thorough cleaning.
Direct the jet of water toward milling cutters. Never
direct the jet towards the transmission or engine.
If water gets in the ignition system or carburetor,
damage and flaws occur.
- If you have used water for cleaning, the engine will
be unintentionally wet. Start the engine and let it
run for a couple of minutes until the heat from the
engine evaporates any remaining water in the area
of the engine.
Other areas:
Clean the rest of the machine with a cloth dampened
in water. Never use gasoline, solvents, detergents,
water or any other liquids.
8.1.3. CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL
- Place the machine on a horizontal, uncluttered flat
surface.
- Unscrew the oil filler cap.
- Clean the oil cap dipstick with a cloth.
- Insert the dipstick and screw on the oil cap.
- Unscrew the plug again and check the mark left by
the oil on the dipstick. The mark left by the oil must
be between the minimum and maximum marks.
- If the mark is below the minimum add a little more
oil and recheck.
- If the mark is above the maximum you will have
to remove oil from the crankcase. To do this, tilt
the machine and let out a little oil (put a container
at the end of the tube to prevent oil spilling from
the machine or onto the ground).
8.1.4. CHECKING THE GEARBOX
Check that there are no oil leaks. If any occur take
your machine in to a service technician.
8.2. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Perform regular inspections of the machine in order to
ensure effective operation of the machine and prevent
risk of injury to machine and user. Replacement parts
should be purchased at the official service dealer.
The use of non-official spare parts may cause risk
of accident, injury to the user and scrapping of the
machine.
Perform maintenance frequently as indicated in the
