OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
ASSEMBLY Ensure during assembly that the power cable is not squeezed and
that it has sufficient play. Wear protective gloves whenever handling
the saw chain.
Fitting the guide bar and saw chain (FIG 3)
1) Check that the chain brake (6) is not active, in the backwards position.
2) Remove the clamp nut (2) and the sprocket cover (1).
3) Put the chain on the threaded stud (11) and push it to the drive sprocket (13)
4) Put the chain on the bar, beginning from the top, ensure cutter teeth are
facing direction of chain rotation
5) Ensure chain fits around drive sprocket (13) and check that tension pin
(12) fits into bottom hole of bar, please keep the chain direction in
accordance with the figure beside the sprocket.
6) Position the chain cover and clamp the nut (2) tightly.
7) Adjust chain tension screw (9) so that when lifting the chain and entire
drive link is just visible. Ensure chain rotates smoothly on bar, fully
tighten knob.
8) Do not over-tension the chain as this will reduce the life of the chain bar
and motor.
9) Do not under-tension the chain as this may cause it to come off of the guide bar.
Switch ON
Have a firm grip on the handles. To switch on, ensure both the trigger
switch (4) and the safety lock-off on the side are depressed simultaneously.
Switch OFF
To stop the chainsaw, release the trigger switch.
