• Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until
the unit has cooled down.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
• Never immerse the device or the base in water or other liquids.
Water Container
• Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it off with a cloth.
Exterior of the Housing
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
• The ion exchanger in the fi lter cartridge is not able to remove the lime com-
pletely from the tap water. After a certain time deposits therefore form on the
heated base which may result in the loss of energy and possibly reduce the
service life of the machine.
• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the
water and on how often the appliance is used.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be
decalcifi ed.
CAUTION: The fi lter cartridge must be removed for descaling.
• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcifi cation agent
on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.
WARNING:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times (approximately
3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do not consume this water.
