Commissioning
1. Before using the unit for the first time, flush through the connecting pipes and
hoses thoroughly. To flush, detach the flexible hose from the water inlet of the
undersink unit and hold it over a drain or bucket. Turn on the water and allow it to
run for several minutes. Then reattach the hose to the water inlet of the undersink
unit and check the installation for leaks.
2. If no leaks are found, plug the supply plug into the socket to activate the unit.
3. The language selection appears on the display. Select your desired language.
4. Then enter the time and the current date. To do this, touch on the text fields,
change the values via + and - and save the entry by tapping on the tick.
5. Specify whether the tap of your Zip unit can drain into a sink or container with a
drain or is only positioned above a tray without a drain. This information is required
for the subsequent tank flushing.
6. A prompt will appear on the display asking you to flush the filter. A container with a
capacity of about 10 litres will be needed to collect the water.
a. Open the service hatch on the front of the unit. Place the end of the plastic hose
in the collecting container and open the valve on the hose.
b. Touch the green arrow to start the flush. The flushing process takes about two
minutes.
c. Close the valve on the hose, stow the hose in the unit and touch the arrow to
continue.
7. Follow the instructions to prepare for cleaning the appliance. Place a cloth to collect
residual water under the Internal Filter, turn the filter cartridge to the left and pull
the filter cartridge down. Set the filter aside and secure it against contamination.
8. First install the HT-Clean adapter (1) in the filter receptacle of the unit and then
screw the HT-Clean can (2) into the adapter.
Note: Do not screw the can into the adapter outside the unit, otherwise the cleaning
solution may leak out.
9. Once the cleaning can is installed, follow the instructions for the subsequent boiling
calibration and cleaning process. BC models allow simultaneous boiling calibration
and cleaning of the chilled water paths.
10. Start temperature calibration, following the instructions on the display. During
1
this process the boiling point of water will be determined and the boiling water
temperature will be set accordingly. Calibration takes five to ten minutes. During
this time the red lever will flash and steam may discharge from the tap.
2
11. Tap on "Chilled cleaning" to start the cleaning process. The process runs
automatically if a tank with drain was selected in step 7 and takes approx. 9
minutes.
Note: If the blue text flashes, the cold water tank must first be emptied via the
fitting.
12. When cleaning is complete, remove the cleaning can and the adapter and reinsert
the filter cartridge.
12:12 PM
13. The hot water tank must then be emptied manually. This can be done either via the
fitting or by pressing and holding the green arrow on the display.

14. The tank is then rinsed. The number of rinse cycles is shown in the display. If your
tap is installed above a sink or tableau with a drain, activate the automatic flush
function. If not, you must draw water manually when the corresponding display
appears until the tank is empty.
Note: If the hot water temperature is still above 50 °C after flushing, the tank
must be emptied again.
15. Booster settings appears. Select "No Booster" to continue.
16. The unit will then be in normal operating mode.
17. Check the water flow and the temperature.
18. Register the appliance online at www.clage.com.
