i) The paint spray gun must not be cleaned with fl ammable solvents which have a fl ash
point of below 21°C.
j) Do not smoke while you are using the device.
k) Always wear safety goggles, work gloves and a respiratory mask. If you wear further
protective equipment such as hearing protection, this also reduces the risk of injuries/
damage.
l) Make sure you wear suitable clothing such as long trousers, a long-sleeved top and
work boots.
m) It is impossible to prevent the impact of noise from this device. You should therefore
take suitable periods of rest. It is essential that you, and all people in the vicinity of
the switched-on device, wear appropriate hearing protection and where possible limit
the level of exposure in areas in which the noise level exceeds 85 dB(A). If in spite
of hearing protection any kind of discomfort arises, stop work immediately and check
the hearing protection to establish whether it fi ts and works properly. Make sure that
it provides an appropriate level of protection for the noise level which is produced by
the device which is used.
n) When the device is used, the user is exposed to vibrations which may lead to loss of the
sense of touch, numbness, a tingling sensation and a reduction in the gripping strength
of the hand. Long-term exposure may result in chronic complaints. If necessary, limit
the level of exposure to vibrations and wear vibration-reducing gloves. Do not use this
tool with cold hands as vibrations display a stronger effect at temperatures below your
individual comfort level. Assess the vibration exposure using the technical data for the
device and establish the acceptable length and frequency of exposure.
o) To considerably reduce the risks posed by vibrations, keep your body and in particular
your hands warm in cold ambient temperatures and move/relax your hands and
fi ngers during breaks. This will promote blood circulation.
p) The vibration strengths which are quoted in the "Technical Data" restrict the period
of use. Adapt the period of time for which you use the device and the frequency and
length of the breaks you take to your physical condition in order to keep vibration
shocks as low as possible.
Q) WARNING: The actual vibration strength may differ from the fi gures which are quoted
in these instructions when using the device. This may have the following causes:
– Is the device being used properly?
– Is the device being held correctly?
– Is the device in a good condition?
r) If you experience an unpleasant sensation or the colour of the skin on your
hands changes while you are using the device, stop performing the work with
the device immediately!
4) Use and Care of the Device
a) Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. If parts of the
device, cable or plug show visible signs of damage, the device must not be used.
Do not try to repair the device yourself or to replace the cable or plug. In the event
of damage, please immediately contact our customer service department or visit an
authorised workshop to guarantee your own safety.
b) Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped in water.
c) Do not make any changes to the device. Do not attempt to replace the mains cable
or the mains plug.
