Additional Safety Warnings for the Paint Spray Gun
1) Workplace Safety
a) Ensure that there is suffi cient ventilation if you use the device in enclosed spaces.
Evaporating fl ammable solvents create an explosive environment. Also observe the
information provided by the paint and solvent manufacturers in relation to this.
b) Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. Do not al-
low the mains cable to hang over the edge of tables or shelves, for example. Others
may become caught and pull the device down.
2) Electrical Safety
a) Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not at-
tempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power!
b) Never touch the device, mains cable or plug with wet hands when these components
are connected to the mains power.
c) Pay attention to the weather conditions if you are working outside. Never expose the
device, the mains cable or the plug to rain!
d) Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed or bent.
e) Only ever connect the device to a properly installed plug socket. The plug socket
must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must match the
voltage indicated on the rating plate of the device.
f) If you use an extension cable, make sure that its ampere value is permitted for the
device and it is in an electrically safe condition. If you are working outdoors with the
device, only use extension cables which are also suitable for outdoor use.
g) Unwind the extension cable fully from the cable extension reel to prevent possible
overheating.
3) Personal Safety
a) Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
b) The device is not a toy! Keep children and animals away from the device.
c) Familiarise yourself with the device before you fi rst use it. Make sure in particular that
you know how to switch the device on and off.
d) Never direct the device at people, animals or plants. Avoid contact between the skin,
eyes and mucous membranes and the coating material being used. Please also
make sure you follow the instructions provided by the paint manufacturer. If you come
into contact with the paint, rinse the affected sites with plenty of fresh water and if
necessary consult a doctor.
e) Do not spray in the vicinity of ignition sources such as static electricity sparks, naked
fl ames, pilot fl ames, hot objects, motors, cigarettes and sparks caused by plugging in
and removing electric cables or operating switches. Such spark sources may result
in ignition of the surrounding environment.
f) Do not spray any materials where it is not known whether they pose a risk. Unknown
materials can create hazardous conditions.
g) Familiarise yourself with the material that you want to spray. Note all of the hazard
warnings and general warnings of the paint manufacturer.
h) Do not use the device with fl ammable or dangerous (e.g. caustic) substances. Only
use products with a fl ash point of over 21°C. Always follow the instructions provided
by the paint manufacturer.
