❐ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts. The
socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connected. The mains voltage
must correspond to the technical data of the device (see chapter "Technical data"). Only use
proper extension cords, whose technical data correspond to those of the device.
❐ Ensure that the connected mains cord does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not allow the
cord to hang over the edge of a table or kitchen worktop. Someone could catch him/herself
and pull down the device.
❐ Lay the cable such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Keep sharp and pointy objects away from the cable.

Proper use

❐ Check the device for damages prior to each use. If the device, the cord or the plug exhibit
visible damages, the device may not be used. Do not use the device if it had a malfunction or
has fallen down.
❐ If the device, the cord or the plug is defective, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In the
event of damage, contact the customer service department. Repairs may be executed by
qualifi ed personnel only.
❐ Only use the enclosed accessories from the manufacturer.
❐ Only use the kettle in combination with the base unit supplied and vice versa.
❐ Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong percussions.
❐ Do not leave the device on when it is unattended.
❐ When fi lling, pouring out or cleaning the kettle, take it off the base.
❐ Do not overfi ll the kettle. Never fi ll it above the MAX mark.
❐ Do not operate the device without water or if the water level is below the MIN mark.
However, the device automatically deactivates itself if this should happen. In this case, push
the On/Off switch to the position 0 (OFF) and let the kettle cool off before you fi ll in and
boil cold water again.
❐ Each time before boiling, ensure that the lid is properly closed and that the On/Off switch is
not jammed. The device only switches off automatically, when the lid is closed and the On/
Off switch is not jammed.
❐ Do not move the device during the boiling process.
❐ Avoid coming into contact with steam emitted from the kettle.
❐ Do not open the lid during the boiling process and let the device cool down before opening the
lid to fi ll in water again! Only touch the plastic application on the lid when closing it. Do not touch
the metal surface. The metal surface becomes hot during use and stays hot shortly after use.
❐ Always make sure that you slowly and carefully pour out boiling water and that you do not
tip the device too abruptly.
❐ Be particularly careful when moving the device that is fi lled with hot water.
❐ Remove the power plug from the socket
– if you are not using the device,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
