Installation
Caution:
1. Do not submit the speaker to a large output when the
controls on the amplifier (such as the tone and loudness
controls) are adjusted so as to greatly increase the level
of the low and/or high frequency ranges.
ye
2. Do not continuously submit the speaker to high- frequen-
cy noise signals such as noise between FM broadcast
channel frequencies and the high-frequency noise caused
by tape fast-forwarding,
3. Set the amplifier volume control to its minimum setting
when carrying out operations such as switching switches
on the amplifier or lifting a needle from a record.
& Prevention of speaker magnetism and operation
near a TV
The Center Speaker is usable at a short distance from your TV
set, but color irregularities may sometimes occur depending
on their proximity. If such irregularities occur, switch the power
of the TV to OFF and then switch it ON again after waiting for
a period of 15 to 30 minutes. The influence of the Center
Speaker
on
the
TV
picture
may
be improved
by self-
demagnetization of the TV set. If the color irregularities still per-
sist, move the Center Speaker farther away from the TV.
& Howling
if the speaker is installed near an analog record turntable, a
howling sound may be generated. If this occurs, place the
speaker farther away from the turntable or reduce the amplifi-
er volume. The howling phenomenon may also occur due to
cross-interference with 2 cassette deck, compact disc player,
or Laserdisc player, although this is very rare. If sound or pic-
ture seems to be distorted due to this reason, place the speaker
farther away from other components or reduce its volume.
& Installation position
@ Mounting on a floor, etc.
Place speakers on a horizontal and stable surface.
Be careful not to accidentally overturn the speaker.
® Hanging on a wall
Rear speakers can be hung on a wail by using the wall hang-
ing holes on the back of the speaker.
When hanging the speakers, select a rigid and hard place on
the wall which can withstand the weight of the speakers.
1. install a screw with sufficient strength on the wall. When
screwing in, leave the head and upper stem of the screw
projected by 7 to 9 mm (1/4 to 3/8 inches) from the wall
surface.
2. Hang the speaker by inserting the screw into the wall hang-
ing hole on the upper rear side of the speaker. Check that
the speakers are firmly mounted.
CAUTION
@ Use attaching screws that match the material of
the wall.
® Before installation, check the wall well to confirm
that it provides an attaching strength that is
strong enough to withstand the weight of the
speaker.
