▶ Secure one carabiner of the tool tether to the retaining strap and secure the second carabiner to a
load-bearing structure. Check that both carabiners hold securely.
Comply with the operating instructions of the Hilti retaining strap and those of the Hilti tool tether.
6 Operation
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
6.1 Standard operation
6.1.1 Selecting the gear
▶ Select the gear.
6.1.2 Setting forward or reverse rotation
▶ Set the forward/reverse switch to forward or reverse rotation, as applicable.
6.1.3 Switching on
▶ Press the control switch.
▶ The product starts.
Speed can be controlled steplessly by varying how far the control switch is pressed in.
6.1.4 Screwdriving 6
▶ Set the required torque at the torque and operating mode selector ring: 1­15.

6.2.1 Using "Drilling assist" mode
1. Set the gear selector switch to 2
2. Insert the TS­BT drill bit. → page 9
3. Position the tip of the drill bit on the workpiece.
4. Fully depress the control switch, hold it down and apply contact pressure to the drill bit.
5. Speed reduces automatically when the hole is drilled to the correct depth.
6. Lift the drill / driver away from the working surface and release the control switch.
7. Check the drillhole in accordance with the operating instructions for the S­BT.
6.2.2 Screwing in S­BT stud
The ATC quick-acting electronic cut-out is not available in the "Screwing in S­BT stud" mode.
1. Set the gear selector switch to 1
2. Insert the stud holder. → page 9
3. Insert the S­BT stud into the stud holder.
4. Position the S­BT stud over the predrilled hole.
5. Fully depress the control switch, hold it down and apply contact pressure to the stud.
6. The torque limiter trips when the stud reaches the correct screw-in depth.
7. Release the control switch and lift the drill / driver away from the working surface.
8. Check the stud in accordance with the S­BT operating instructions.
