BEFORE THE FIRST USE
·
Remove all packing materials and carefully clean the appliance, the grill plate and the raclette pans
before the first use (see "Cleaning and maintenance").
·
Use a thin layer of vegetable oil in the raclette pans and on the grill plate. This will prevent sticking and
cleaning after use will be easier.
·
When using the appliance for the first time a small amount of smoke may be released from the
heating element. This is completely normal and harmless. For this reason allow the appliance 10-30
minutes to preheat before using for the first time in order to burn any possible remaining residues.
·
Place the unit preferably on a surface that is easy to clean. The surface should also be heat-resistant.
Do not place the appliance on an untreated wooden surface.
·
Make sure that there is enough ventilation around the grill.
USE
1.
Make sure that the grill is switched off (position MIN). Plug into an earthed socket.
2.
Use a thin layer of vegetable oil in the raclette pans and on the grill plate. This will prevent sticking
and cleaning after use will be easier.
3.
Cut meat into small squares to shorten the cooking time. The thickness of the food determines the
cooking time. Turn the food often to ensure even cooking.
4.
Only use wooden or plastic utensils so you do not damage the anti-stick coating of the grill plate or
mini pans.
SETTING OF TEMPERATURE
You can set the temperature of the appliance as required. The temperature
ranges from minimum (MIN) to maximum (MAX). A mid-way temperature is
recommended.
This switch is also the 'on' switch, and MIN is the off position.
Turn the temperature regulator to the required position. The red indicator light will
illuminate to indicate that the unit is warming up. Once the set temperature has been reached, this light
will turn off again. When the temperature of the grill plate drops, the light will automatically illuminate
again to show that the unit is warming up and go out again when the desired temperature is reached.
RACLETTES
·
Use a thin layer of vegetable oil on the raclette pans. This will prevent sticking and cleaning after use
will be easier.
·
For raclettes use approximately 200-250 g special raclette cheese per person. Cut the cheese into thin
slices of 2 mm.
·
Lay the cheese in the raclette pans and place the mini pans on the appliance in the specially designed
slots. The cheese will be ready in about 3-4 minutes. Do not overfill the pans.
·
The above can be prepared with a combination of onions, gherkins, lettuce, baguettes or potatoes.
·
The raclette mini pans are also suitable for frying eggs or new potatoes (small) and even meat.
·
The XL raclette pans are slightly larger and deeper so they can be used to cook larger vegetables and
other foods.
·
Do not touch the pans with bare hands; use the handles.
·
Do not allow the empty raclette pans to heat. Instead, place them in the cooling zone.
