5.1
Charging the battery
1. Before charging the battery, read the operating instructions for the charger.
2. Make sure that the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the charger are clean and dry.
3. Use an approved charger to charge the battery. → page 7
5.2
Inserting the battery
WARNING
Risk of injury by short circuit or falling battery!
▶ Before inserting the battery, make sure that the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the product
are free of foreign matter.
▶ Make sure that the battery always engages correctly.
1. Charge the battery fully before using it for the first time.
2. Push the battery into the product until it engages with an audible click.
3. Check that the battery is seated securely.

Removing the battery
1. Press the battery release button.
2. Remove the battery from the product.

Installing an accessory tool
CAUTION
Risk of damage and risk of injury due to damaged Keyless quick-action clamping screw. The Keyless
quick-action clamping screw can snap off if it is overtightened.
▶ Never use a tool to tighten the Keyless quick-action clamping screw. Tighten it by hand only.
Use only accessory tools approved for a speed at least equal to the rated speed stated on the product.
1. Clean the clamping flange and the quick-release clamping nut.
2. Fit the clamping flange on to the drive spindle.
3. Make sure that the clamping flange is seated correctly.
4. Set the accessory tool on the clamping flange.
5. Press and hold down the spindle lock button.
6. Set the quick-release lock nut on the accessory tool.
7. Firmly tighten the quick-release lock nut.
8. Release the spindle lock button.
9. Switch the grinder on. → page 11
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Damaged grinding wheels can work loose.
▶ Protect the grinding wheels from blows, impacts and grease.
▶ Do not use vibrating grinding wheels.
10. Allow the grinder to run for at least one minute without load to ensure that the accessory tool is correctly
installed.

Removing the accessory tool
1. Press and hold down the spindle lock button.
2. Undo the quick-release lock nut.
3. Release the spindle lock button.
4. Remove the accessory tool.
