2.2. Clothing
In general it is necessary to wear suitable clothing for the work to be carried out. In particular,
as far as Harvester use, obey the following provisions:
- It is mandatory to use clothing which is as suitable as possible, meaning not too loose and
without any protruding or moving parts (for example ties or necklaces). Do not wear belts, rings
and chains. Always use sturdy safety footwear. Long hair must be tied using a specific cap.
- It is mandatory to use protective goggles or visor before starting the work to protect one's
face and eyes from the plant fragments that might detach from the tree during work.
- It is mandatory to use protective muffs in order to safeguard hearing from noise from the
equipment during work.
- It is mandatory To wear gloves that comply with the standard EN 388:2019 for protection
against mechanical risks or due to vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system. It is advi-
sable to suspend the harvesting activities every 90/120 minutes for about 15 minutes.
2.3. Ecology and pollution
- It is mandatory to comply with the laws in force in the country where the Harvester ia used,
concerning the use and disposal of products used for cleaning and washing the parts, adhe-
ring to the recommendations of the manufacturer of said products.
- In the event of replacing worn parts or at the time of demolition it is advisable to follow the
anti-pollution laws in force in the country where it is used, complying with the requirements
in directive 2012/19/EU concerning the management of waste electrical and electronic
equipment.
2.3.1. Demolition and decommissioning
If you decide to no longer use the Harvester, it is advisable to take certain precautions to pre-
vent environmental pollution risks. The various parts of the machine must be treated as special
waste. The equipment must be disassembled by grouping the various parts and components
in homogeneous parts with special attention to the electrical and electronic parts in order to
comply with the provisions of directive 2012/19/EU concerning the management of waste elec-
trical and electronic equipment, following the anti-pollution laws in force in the country where
the machine was used.
When the product must be disposed of it must not be thrown away as general waste,
but must be sent to the appropriate separate waste collection centres. Unauthorised
disposal of the equipment may lead to the application of administrative penalties by the
country where the machine is used.
