7. Install the Finished Ceiling
Build a 5" (12.7 cm) typical drop sill (including finished ceiling
material) around the mounting cradle using cut/modified 2x6
lumber.
Install the water-resistant wall board.
IMPORTANT! The rough opening (cutout) size must be within
specified limits (refer to cutout dimensions shown above). The seal
will not cover gaps greater than 1/4" (6 mm).
IMPORTANT! The balancing loop(s) must be centered within 1/8"
(3 mm) with the pipe nipples evenly spaced from the edges of
rough opening.
Cut out a 20-1/4" (51.4 cm) to 20-1/2" (52.1 cm) square at the
desired installation location.
Install the finished ceiling material (if using tile).
Double check that the finished drop sill is the proper height
relative to the cradle. The depth from the bottom of cradle to the
finished surface should be between 3-1/2" (8.9 cm) and 3-3/4"
(9.5 cm).
