Types of valves
The towable is provided with 1 Boston Valve. The Boston screw
valve must first be screwed onto the welded counterpart in the air
chamber. Ensure that the valve is firmly seated. The Boston Valve
can be unscrewed to inflate air, or removed entirely to deflate air.
The towable is also provided with 1 safety chamber which has a
conventional valve like e.g. air mattresses. These valves are
bigger, so you can inflate or deflate faster. To inflate air, pull out
the valve a little and open the plug. Then inflate air and seal it
with the plug. To deflate air, pull the plug out and push the valve
neck easily together.
Preparation
Lay the product on a flat surface with no sharp objects that could
puncture the PVC bladder or cover, and do not step on the
product! If the towable has a cover, you must make sure that the
inner tube is wrinkle-free and the valves are correctly aligned with
the valve openings of the cover. If you use the product for the first
time, unscrew the Boston Valve screw-type valve firmly into the
outlet of the main air chamber.Fully encased towables (Hurricane)
have zippers for closing the outer cover. Close these zippers
completely, or the cover might be damaged by the air pressure
during inflation!
NOTE: Inflatables are sensitive to cold and should not be
unfolded and inflated at temperatures below +15°C(59°F).
Inflating
When all zippers are closed, start inflating the air chambers. First,
inflate the safety bladder inside the main chamber. Open the
08
valve, connect it to the adapter of the pump and inflate the safety
bladder. Pull off the pump adapter, close the valve with the plug
and push it back into the air chamber. Then inflate the Boston
Valve of the main chamber. If you use the product for the first
time, you may need to inflate the air chambers repeatedly in
succession slightly to position the bladders and valves correctly in
the cover. Open the Boston-Valve of chamber 2 (main chamber)
and connect it to the pump adapter. Inflate the chambers in the
correct order.
NOTE: Only use hand or foot pumps for inflating the towable. Use
in no case a compressor or compressed air. Do not inflate the
product too firm. This can lead to damage and leaks. The
permitted working pressure is 1.2 psi (0.083 bar) and may be
influenced by water temperature and weather. Cold reduces the
pressure, so you should inflate more air. Heat increases the
pressure. In this case, let some air out.
Deflating
To deflate the air controlled from the main chamber, unscrew the
Boston Valve screw valve and push down the internal pin slightly.
You can also remove the screw valve completely to deflate the air
quickly and thoroughly. To deflate the safety chamber, open the
valve and push the valve neck with two fingers together, then the
air escapes. At the end, gently press the residual air from the air
chambers.
