5 . CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Before using your appliance, as well as after each use, carefully clean
all the parts .
• After cooking, turn the control button to the 'OFF' position, unplug the
electrical lead and allow the appliance to cool for at least 30 minutes
before handling it .
• The plates may be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. When cleaning
the plates, do not use metal objects like knives as they will damage the
non-stick coating . Use only plastic, heat-resistant utensils .
• Use a soft dry cloth to clean the housing, the lid and the control button.
For more stubborn marks, use a damp cloth . Never use abrasive
cleaning agents or scrub brushes .
• Never allow plastic utensils to come in contact with the appliance.
• Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing the appliance.
• Never wrap the mains lead around the appliance.
• Never immerse the plug, the mains lead or the housing in water or any
other liquid .
• The appliance may be stored on its side so that it takes up less space in
your cupboard .
• The appliance has a latch that keeps the lid shut when it is stored.
• To preserve the non-stick quality of the cooking plates, do not allow
them to heat up too long when they are empty .
