During operation avoid sharp bendings of the flex-
ible shaft. Excessively small bend radius will result
in premature wear. Strong whipping movements
and convulsions of the flexible shaft are signs of overload-
ing. As countermeasures use smaller tool or increase ro-
tational speed. However, this only in stict observation of
the instructions on the maximum allowed circumferential
speed of the respective tool.

Dry the machine and keep clean in stor-
age.
Keep cooling air openings unclogged.
Regularly check connection line. Have defective lines or
connectors replaced. Have repairs done by a technician
only.
Do not spray down with water. Clean surface with lightly
moistened rags.
In case the machine is operated in one gear position only
one must at least once a week switch through all posi-
tions for a brief period in order to redistribute the grease
for l ong gear service life (run without flexibel shaft and
handpiece).

AintenAnce of the flexiBle shAft
Store flexible shafts in dry and clean condition.
New or freshly greased shafts require a run-in
time of approx. 1 hour.
In case of daily use lubricate monthly:

Pull shaft core out of protective tubing. Remove old shaft
grease. Lubricate shaft core with shaft grease only lightly
(1 kg can, order no. 904 832). Replace worn shaft core
(see SUHNER catalogue). Keep hose coupling in clean
- lightly greased condition. Replace worn couplings (see
SUHNER catalogue).

If the machine strict observance of the manufacturing and
testing method the tool should happen to fail, it must be
repaired by an authorized SUHNER agency.
Any replacement needed for the connecting line must be
installed by the manufacturer or its agent if safety risks are
to be eliminated.

In the event of the tool being improperly handled, used
for purposes for which it is not intended and/or of the ser-
vice and maintenance instructions not being observed by
non-authorized persons, no warranty shall be in effect for
damages/consequential damages.
Complaints can only be honored if the machine is re-
turned in the undisassembled condition.
