PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
1. Switch off the appliance by pressing the switch (7) on "0" (OFF).
2. Turn the handwheel (6) counterclockwise to raise the needle (10) to the highest po-
sition (Fig. F7).
Pay attention to your fingers during this operation.

Danger of injury!

3. Firmly grip the needle to be replaced.
4. Unscrew the screw of the clamp (12) anticlockwise to loosen it (Fig. F8a).
5. Remove the needle to be replaced.
6. Insert the new needle in the appropriate seat, making sure that the flat part is posi-
tioned towards the back of the device.
Make sure that the needle is inserted as far as it will go. This precaution
prevents the risk of bent or blunt needles and damaged stitches.
7. Screw the clamp screw (12) clockwise to tighten it firmly (Fig. F8b).
> > Winding the coil thread
The winding of the thread on the coil must be done before threading (see
next paragraph)
1. Install the spool on the spool holder (15) (Fig. F9).
2. Pull the thread by passing it behind the coil winding tension disc (2)
(Fig. F14).
3. Insert the empty coil on the bobbin winding shaft (5), then wind the thread clock-
wise about 2 or 3 times (Fig. F10).
4. Push the coil to the left to lock it against the support (4) (Fig. F11).
5. Switch on the appliance by moving the selector (7)
to "L" (minimum speed); the appliance starts and the
thread is wound on the coil (Fig. F12).
To allow the thread to wind uniformly on the coil,
it is possible to gently move the thread under
tension with the help of your fingers.
