c) Connection
• Connect a non-kink hose to the outlet nozzle and clamp using a marine grade stainless-
steel clamp.
• Use the correct hose size. Using a hose with smaller diameter will not damage the pump
but will restrict flow.
Installation tips
See figure 1.
• The hull should be ≥13 mm (1/2") thick.
- If needed place a block of marine plywood (slightly larger than the pump base) in the
lowest part of the bilge.
- Glue the plywood to the hull with a suitable waterproof marine grade adhesive.
• Position the pump in the lowest part of the bilge on a flat, level surface (on the plywood
block if it has been installed) with the outlet pointing toward the transom.
- Make sure outlet nozzle is level. If pointed upward or downward, an airlock may form in
the pump.
• The float end of the pump must be level with or above the pump end.
- This prevents the pump from running out of water while the float is still high enough to
activate the pump.
IMPORTANT! When drilling holes do not drill through the hull!
• Use marine grade stainless steel clamps to secure the hose.
• Route the hose on an upward incline to the thru-hull fitting.
- Avoid dips in hose that can trap water and air in the pump.
- Avoid putting excess tension on hose, which can damage the pump outlet.
Wiring
See figure 2.
IMPORTANT!
• The power supply must not exceed 12 V/DC. Higher voltages will damage the pump.
• All wires and connections must be above the bilge water level.
• To prevent electrolysis and corroded wire connections, all wire ends and terminals
should be sealed with heavy duty marine sealant and located above the highest pos-
sible water level by fastening with insulated staples or plastic straps.
• Always install the correct fuse type and specification. Failure to do so can cause
pump malfunction and result in personal injury and / or fire hazard.
• Always disconnect the power supply when installing or servicing electrical parts.
• Use ø1.02 mm (18 AWG) wire. Lower guages can cause overheating and reduce
the pumps performance.
1. Connect wires to the pump as shown in the diagram. Use the full length of wire provided
(use additional wire if needed).
Automatic
- Connect brown-white wire connect to battery (+) terminal.
- Connect black wire connected to battery (-).
Manual
- Conect brown wire connect to battery (+) terminal.
- Connect black wire connecte to battery (-).
2. Route wires out of the way and secure them to the bulkhead to avoid pulling.
3. Splice the fuse holder into the positive lead (brown), between the battery and switch.
- Position fuse holder in a location that is easily accessible for changing fuses.
-
Use fuses of the proper amperage (see technical data).
4. Install a three-way switch that allows for automatic or manual switching models.
5. Turn the pump on and twist the TURN TO TEST knob clockwise to check operation.
6. Feed water into the pump. If output appears to be too low, check for reversed wire connec-
tions. Reversed connections can result in opposite impeller rotation that drastically reduces
capacity and can cause premature pump failure.

Operation
IMPORTANT!
• Only use with fresh water or salt water.
• DO NOT use with gasoline, diesel, oil, hazardous, caustic, corrosive, or other flam-
mable liquids.
• Do not dry run the pump.
a) Automatic pumping
1. When the water level rises the float switch's contact point is connected and the pump is
activated.
2. When the water level drops, the float switch's contact point is disconnected, and the pump
is deactivated.
b) Manual pumping
Pumping is activated/deactivated using a 3-way switch.
Care and maintenance
IMPORTANT!
• Never disconnect the filter while the pump is running.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solu-
tions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Regularly inspect electrical wiring and connections.
• Regularly check that debris is not jamming the impeller and/or float within the housing. Twist
the TURN TO TEST knob clockwise to check operation.
• Remove debris that has accumulated in pump chamber and impeller.
- Clean the water chamber: remove the pump housing from the filter basket.
- Clean the impeller: remove the pump housing from the filter basket, then remove the
impeller guard screws
• Check the impeller is firmly attached to shaft and is not cracked or broken.
