Construction and operation
a)
The operation of arc welding equipment can cause electromagnetic
disturbances in some cases. Even if each welder fulfills the emission limit
according to the standard . The user is responsible for any interfernces caused
by welding.
b)
The users should consider the following, to evaluate potential electromagnetic
problems in the environment (see also EN 60974-10):
• Power, control, signal and telecommunication lines
• Radio and television equipment
• Computer and other control devices
• Safety devices
• The health of neighboring persons, especially they have a pacemaker or wear
hearing aids
• Calibration and measuring devices
• The immunity of other equipment in the area
• The time of day at which the welding work must be performed, recommendations to
reduce noise emission
• Network connection, e.g. additional mains filter or shielding by metal tube
• Maintenance of arc welding equipment
• Welding leads should be as short as possible and close together and on the ground
run
• Potential equalization
• Grounding of the work piece. In cases where a direct grounding of the work piece is
not is possible, the connection should be carried out by suitable capacitors.
• Shielding from other facilities in the area or the entire welding equipment.

RESIDUAL RISKS AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES
MECHANICAL RESIDUAL RISKS
• Incisions on hands may be punctured with a wire.
Use protective gloves or keep your hands a safe distance from wire output.
• Splashing of liquids while welding could cause burns.
Wear protective clothing and welding mask.
ELECTRICAL RESIDUAL RISKS
• Direct contact with electricity
Direct contact with electricity with damp hands could cause an electric shock.
Avoid contact with electricity when you have damp hands or be particular about
proper grouding.
THERMAL RESIDUAL RISKS
• Burns, frost-bites
Contact with the hose nozzle and with the piece being treated could cause burns.
The hose nozzle and piece being treated should be cooled down after operation.
Wear protective gloves.
DANGER FROM RADIATION
• Infrared, visible and ultraviolet light.
Electric arc generates infrared and ultraviolet radiation.
Use a suitable protective welding shield, protective clothing and protective gloves.
DANGER FROM THE MATERIAL BEING TREATED AND OTHER SUBSTANCES
• Contact, aspiration
Prolonged aspiration of welding gases could be harmful to your health.
Only work in a facility or area with good ventilation. Avoid direct inhalation of gases.
Fire or explosion
• Hot slag and sparkles could cause a fire.
Never operate the machine in the environment where a fire could occur easily.
