I) RECORDING LEVEL
THE PRESET RECORDING SOUND LEVEL OF THE SYSTEM IS LOWER THAN THAT OF THE ORIGINAL MUSIC
SOURCE IN ORDER TO AVOID DISTORTION DURING RECORDING.
II) AUTO(MATIC) OR MANUAL TRACK SEPARATION (TS)
DURING RECORDING, YOU CAN SEPARATE THE MUSIC TRACKS (FROM CD/AUX/TAPE OR VINYL) IN EITHER
"AUTO MODE" OR "MANUAL MODE".
a) AUTO MODE
PRESS THE "AUTO/MANUAL" BUTTON (4) WHEN PREPARING TO RECORD, THE LCD (2) WILL SHOW -20db,
-30db, -40db AND " ---- " REPEATEDLY.
WHEN THE RECORDING SOUND LEVEL HAS DROPPED BELOW -20 / -30 / -40 db (RECORDING SIGNAL), WHEN
THE CURRENT TRACK ENDS A NEW TRACK WILL BE GENERATED, AND THE RECORDING WILL CONTINUE AU-
TOMATICALLY.
NOTES:
IT IS RECOMMENDED A LOWER RECORDING LEVEL IS SET FOR A MUSIC SOURCE THAT PRODUCES CLEARER
SOUND, SUCH AS FROM AUX, E.G. AN MP3 PLAYER. THE SOUND VOLUME LEVEL HAS TO BE ADJUSTED VIA THE
CONTROLS OF THE CONNECTED DEVICE ITSELF.
" – 20db OR – 30db " – FOR RECORDING FROM AUX-IN WITH DIGITAL MUSIC SOURCE.
THE ABOVE IS JUST A RECOMMENDATION.
AUTO MODE IS NOT ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL WHEN RECORDING FROM VINYL, SO TO BE SURE THE TRACKS GET SE-
PARATED CORRECTLY, PLEASE USE THE MANUAL MODE INSTEAD.
b) MANUAL MODE
EACH TIME YOU PRESS THE TRACK SEPARATION "TS" BUTTON (19) DURING RECORDING (IN ANY MODE),
THE SYSTEM WILL GENERATE A NEW TRACK AND THEN CONTINUE RECORDING THE NEXT TRACK. THE WORD
"BUSY" WILL BRIEFLY SHOW ON THE LCD DISPLAY (2), WHEN THE UNIT IS SUCCESSFULLY CREATING A NEW
TRACK.
III) FINALIZING A CD-R OR CD-RW DISC
YOU MUST CONVERT THE RECORDED CD-R(W) DISC INTO A STANDARD AUDIO CD BEFORE YOU CAN PLAY
IT IN ANOTHER AUDIO CD PLAYER. THIS PROCESS IS KNOWN AS "FINALIZING" AND A TABLE OF CONTENTS
(TOC) WILL BE WRITTEN ON THE CD AT THE SAME TIME:
1. PRESS THE " CD II" (32) FUNCTION BUTTON AND PLACE THE CD-R(W) DISC YOU ARE GOING TO FINALIZE
INTO THE TRAY.
2. PRESS THE "FINALIZE" BUTTON (6) WHILE IN "STOP" MODE. " FiN-d " APPEARS ON THE LCD DISPLAY (2).
(TO QUIT THE "FINALIZE" MODE, PRESS THE "STOP
3. PRESS THE " PLAY/PAUSE
DURING THIS PROCESS.
4. AFTER THE DISC HAS BEEN FINALIZED, THE CD DOOR WILL OPEN AUTOMATICALLY AND THE "NO TOC" IN-
DICATOR WILL DISAPPEAR FROM THE LCD DISPLAY (2).
NOTES:
• THE TIME IT TAKES TO FINALIZE DEPENDS ON THE CONTENTS OF THE RECORDING AND IT MAY TAKE A FEW
MINUTES IN SOME INSTANCES.
• DURING THE FINALIZING PROCESS THE FUNCTION BUTTONS WILL NOT WORK.
• NEVER TURN OFF THE POWER OR UNPLUG THE POWER CORD DURING THE FINALIZING PROCESS.
• A "CD-R" DISC CANNOT BE RECORDED ON AGAIN AFTER FINALIZING.
• ALTHOUGH A FINALIZED "CD-R" DISC MAY BE PLAYED ON ORDINARY CD PLAYERS, REMEMBER THAT A FINA-
LIZED "CD-RW" DISC MAY NOT ALWAYS PLAY ON ORDINARY CD PLAYERS.
• NOT ALL CD-R OR CD-RW DISCS GENERALLY ON SALE ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE SYSTEM, DUE TO VARI-
ANCES IN THEIR MANUFACTURE. IF YOU FIND THE QUALITY OF THE RECORDING UNSATISFACTORY, THIS IS
NOT A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM. PLEASE TRY USING A DISC OF A DIFFERENT BRAND.
