Description
ATS1238 Advanced Wireless DGP expands Advisor Advanced
control panel inputs with 868 MHz AM wireless transmitter
sensors (see "Supported wireless devices" on page 3 for
supported device list).
ATS1238 also supports wireless PIR cameras. For intrusion
alarm events the 868 MHz AM connection is used. The
additional camera video verification functionality uses the
2.4 GHz connection.
Fob buttons can be programmed to set and unset premises, or
to control relays. For example, a fob can be used to open and
close a garage door remotely.
ATS1238 supports maximum 8 wireless PIR cameras and
sensors (total of 32) and 16 fobs. ATS1238 expands the panel
with 32 zones.
Note:
Only one ATS1238 can be connected to the control
panel. Install ATS1235 expanders to increase number of
sensors and fobs.
ATS1238 requires the following ATS Advanced control panel
firmware versions: MR_022.022.0110 or later.
The wireless expander is powered from the Advisor Advanced
control panel MI bus.

Basic system description
The ATS control panel collects the data from the expansion
board on the MI bus.
The ATS1238 receives the RF signal from the wireless
devices, such as fobs, PIR sensors, smoke detectors, PIR
cameras.
A programmable supervision function monitors the state of the
devices in the field. Transmitters send one supervisory signal
every 18 minutes. Smoke sensors send one supervision signal
every 63 minutes.

Mounting ATS1238 inside control panel
ATS1238 is mounted inside Advisor Advanced large plastic
housing. See Figure 2.
Alternatively, ATS1238 can be mounted inside a dedicated
housing ATS7072.
WARNING:
Electrocution hazard. To avoid personal injury or
death from electrocution, remove all sources of power and
allow stored energy to discharge before installing or removing
equipment.
To mount ATS1238:
1.
Remove power from the ATS control panel before
installation.
2.
Remove battery wires from the battery.
3.
Mount ATS1238 at the topside on 4 plastic pillars on the
bottom of the large plastic housing.
4.
Connect the MI cable between panel MI-bus connector
and expansion board MI-bus connector.
Caution:
Avoid covering ATS1238 antennas with any cables,
including MI flat cable. Lay cables under the ATS1238 board.
See Figure 4.
Use two MI-BUS connectors when using ATS1238 together
with ATS7310 GSM module (see examples in Figure 5). It is
recommended to connect ATS7310 first (item A).
Tamper switch
ATS1238 provides a dedicated housing tamper, which includes
top tamper switch (Figure 1, item 1) and bottom reed switch
(item 2). If the module is installed inside a dedicated housing,
enable the tamper by removing tamper disable jumper
(Figure 1, item 4).
If ATS1238 is installed inside the control panel, put the tamper
disable jumper in to disable tamper.
Addressing ATS1238
Each expansion board connected to the ATS control panel bus
must identify itself to the ATS control panel with a unique
address set with the DIP switches 1 to 4 (see Figure 1,
Table 1 on page 3 shows 4 possible addresses, from 1 to 4.
