6.3. FUNCTION OF THE BUTTONS
ON/OFF long press; turns the machine on and off, single press; start and stop cycles.
SET Select the various programs.
and
change temperatures or blast chilling times.
Each type of program can be further distinguished automatically (with probe) or manual (timed) as better specified
below:
Automatic: controller size in temperature, therefore requires the insertion of the probe. It consists of a blast chill-
ing phase and a conservation phase (with automatic changeover). It also provides for a control on the insertion of
the probe by comparing the temperature of the same with the temperature of the chamber.
Manual: controller size in time. It consists of a timed blast chilling phase and a storage phase (with automatic
switching).
The programs can be selected as described below, after turning on the blast chiller with the ON/OFF button.
1) Press the SET key to select the desired positive program + 3 ° C; positive time (90 min.); negative program -18
° C; negative time (270 min) negative -35 ° C; Infinity. Repeated pressing of the Set key scrolls the programs in
cyclical sequence, "-18", "270", "3", "90", "-35", "inF", with the compressor LED (cold symbol) on or off depending
on the cycle selected either a negative or a positive cycle.
2) Press start (a second time, see previous point) to start the cycle.
3) At the end of the cycle (Set point reached) the buzzer starts to sound. The blast chiller automatically goes into
conservation mode.
4) Keep the stop button pressed until OFF appears (for 4 seconds) to switch off the blast chiller.
The automatic program acts according to the values of the parameters that are preset to factory default values,
but are accessible to the end user and can be changed with the up-down keys.
User changes are permanent and constitute the new "defaults".
The duration of the blast chilling cycle is determined by reaching the temperature of:
+ 3 ° C; -18 ° C; -35 ° C, by the needle probe (wherever it is positioned).
inF forces the machine to run continuously.
The display shows the temperature detected by the core probe until, when the set-point value is reached, the
control automatically switches to conservation operation and the buzzer emits an intermittent sound for 10 se-
conds. At this point the display will show the temperature detected by the chamber probe.
With blast chilling (core probe) an alarm goes off for the maximum time reached (90 m 'x + 3 ° and 270 m' x
-18 °) which are by law.
If the buzzer is active, the first press of UP / Down allows to silence the buzzer.
A first press of start stops the cycle in operation, a subsequent one restarts the cycle (if in time it restarts from
the beginning, with the last set time).
6.4. DISPLAY VISUALIZATION
After the first power on, the appliance in stand-by, the display shows what is foreseen by the corresponding pa-
rameter.
The control panel also goes into Stand-by mode if the start / stop button is pressed for 4 seconds when the blast
chilling cycles are stopped. Generally, when turned on, the display shows what it was displaying before turning
off, see the previous paragraph.
6.5. MANUAL CYCLE IN PROGRESS
The display shows the time remaining to the end of the cycle (decreasing). By default the displayed initial value
is 90 (90 min) for any positive cycle + 3 °C, and 270 (270 min) for any negative cycle at -18 °C.
At one time p. es. 3 minutes is displayed as "003".
Every minute scrolls the wording cool if positive, chill if negative, deep if at -35 °C and flashes indicating the
chamber temperature.
