7.2.2 CLEANING THE VENTILATION PIPE
Recommended frequency: Annually or every 1000 uses
Cleaning the ventilation system
1. Unplug the toilet.
2. Pull the toilet away from the ventilation pipes and place it to one side.
3. Using a hand-held brush with firm bristles, carefully clean any dirt, dust or other objects obstructing the
airflow from the horizontal inlet and outlet pipes.
4. Remove the chimney cap and the T-bend bottom cap from the vertical ventilation pipe.
5. Using a chimney sweeping brush, clean any built-up material from the interior of the vertical ventilation
pipe.
RINSING THE DRAIN HOLE (T-PIECE)
The T-piece should be dismantled annually and debris (e.g.
leaves, insects) removed to ensure satisfactory airflow.

normal local collection system.
