Replacing the carbon brushes

The angle grinder uses carbon brushes,
which wear down. Therefore check them
regularly and replace both of them when
one or both are worn down to the wear limit,
which is 5 mm.
1. Disconnect the angle grinder from the
mains. Take the angle grinder apart by
unscrewing the rear screw from the
screw hole (a), removing the black plastic
section (b) and pulling the rear section of
the casing (c) off .
2. Use a screwdriver to release the metal
clip secured in the hole in the brush
holder (d) and lift the spring with the
carbon brush (e) out of the brush holder
(d). Replace the worn carbon brush (e).
Replace the carbon brush in the brush
holder again and make sure that the
metal clip clicks into place.

3. Replace the rear section of the casing
and the plastic section and check that
the angle grinder is correctly assembled
before using it again.
