Danger of Fire
■
Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and
explosive fumes.
■
Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material.
■
Beware of damage caused by fi re! Never iron on one spot for too long.
■
Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a mul-
tiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re).
■
Always place the device upright on its base even during short pauses in ironing and
do not place it down on the bottom of the iron. Pull out the mains plug during lengthy
breaks.
■
Immediately after ironing, place the still hot device down a minimum distance of 15
cm away from walls, furniture and other objects.
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
■
Only iron on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface. We recom-
mend that you use a standard ironing board.
■
Do not iron over zips, studs, clips etc. to prevent any scratching of the coating on the
bottom of the iron.
■
Never iron on surfaces made from glass or plastic.
■
Never cover up the steam nozzles and do not insert any objects into them.
■
Only switch on the steam when the water reservoir is fi lled with water as otherwise
the water pump may be damaged and the useful service life of the device may be
shortened.
■
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
■
Do not drop the device or subject it to heavy impacts.
■
Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not
to damage the device.
■
Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide temperature variations,
moisture, wet conditions or direct sunlight.
■
Always test the device fi rst on a small, inconspicuous spot on the clothing.
■
Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These can
damage the surface. Do not use any metal objects to remove dirt from the bottom of
the iron.
■
Never pour cleaning agents or other chemical additives into the device (apart from
descaling agents). This may destroy the device and safe working is no longer guar-
anteed.
