6. Preparation for work –
Installation
Switch off engine and remove spark plug cap
before installing (or dismantling) the hedge
trimmer attachment. Always cover the cutting
blades with the blade sheath during installation
or dismantling of the hedge trimmer
attachment.
A) Hedge trimmer attachment 600 00 227
without supplied lower shaft section
The hedge trimmer attachment 60 00 227
without lower shaft section is solely approved
for attachment to
SOLO brushcutters with
25 cm3 and 29 cm3 engines,
loop handle
24 mm shaft tube diameter and
with ridged shaft drive.
(7 toothed star gear)
This covers the following models:
SOLO 129L
SOLO 129LTS
Some of the earlier models of the following
types
SOLO 124, SOLO 126 and SOLO 127
were delivered with rigid shaft drives, subject to
series. If in doubt, please check with your dealer.
For installation, completely remove the gearbox
and shield, located on the operational side of
the shaft tube.

Release both screws (1) on the half clamps of
the shield and remove the shield. Take care
to ensure that all screws, nuts and washers
are retained in a safe place ready for
reinstallation of the shield.
Release the three gearbox screws (2) and
push the gearbox off the shaft tube.

Release the shaft tube connection straining
screw (10).
Place the hedge trimmer attachment on to
the shaft tube by gently rotating it until it
reaches the end stop.
Orient the hedge trimmer attachment in line
with the brushcutter fuel handle.
Tighten the shaft tube connection straining
screw (10) followed by the fixing screw (11)
with a Torx T25 spanner.
B) Hedge trimmer attachment 60 00 228
supplied with lower shaft tube
The hedge trimmer attachment 60 00 228
supplied with lower shaft tube is solely designed
for attachment to the SOLO brushcutter 129
LTS with sectional shaft.
Installation of the lower shaft tube into the
hedge trimmer attachment angular gear.
Montage des Schaftrohrunterteils in das
Winkelgetriebe des Anbau Heckenschere:
Release the lower shaft tube straining screw
(10) and fixing screw (11) at the hedge
trimmer attachment angular gear.
Push the lower shaft tube with the star
toothed drive shaft into the angular gear up
to its end stop.
Orient the lower shaft tube by gently
rotating it, so that the attachment fixing
holes for connecting the upper shaft tube are
located to the left and right hand side of the
hedge trimmer blades.
Tighten the shaft tube connection straining
screw (10) followed by the fixing screw (11)
with a Torx T25 spanner.
A simple, quick tool change is made possible as
the lower shaft tube can now be replaced with
the tool head attached.
