PROBLEM :
ATV mount plate won't latch to the rear pivot using
plow lift winch or ATV mounted Polaris winch
system.
SOLUTIONS :
• Make sure that the bottom side of the mount plate on the
vehicle, and the top side of the rear pivot are clean. If there is
mud, dirt, snow, ice, etc on these surfaces, it may keep the
plow from latching to the mount plate.
• If the plow still will not latch to the mount plate, inspect the
mount plate and rear pivot for damage. The parts do have
somewhat of a tight fit, and if parts are bent or damaged, they
may not mate. This is especially important for the sides of the
mount plate on the vehicle. If they are bent inward, the plow
frame will not mate and latch. Damaged parts replacement
will be necessary.
• If the winch stalls out and the system doesn't latch, lower the
winch a small amount and then lift it up again. By lowering the
winch a small amount after raising it all the way, the rear pivot
is allowed to slide back and down into its home position. The
rear pivot can then be raised up again and it will latch easily.
Because of the winch lift angle, the rear pivot stop block may
not be tight against the rear pivot rod on the mount plate.
• If the plow frame will not latch, loosen the mounting bolts on
the vehicle mount plate and retighten according to the
procedures outlined in the installation instructions. This
procedure will realign system properly.
